Igen partnered with 24-7 Group to design and install a 150 kWp solar PV system at Amazon’s new logistics centre in Bognor Regis. This installation supports Amazon’s global commitment to net-zero carbon operations and forms part of their broader strategy to reduce environmental impact across all business operations.
The Challenge
Amazon’s logistics facilities are at the forefront of the company’s sustainability mission, with a clear objective to transition buildings to be powered entirely by renewable energy. The brief for the Bognor Regis centre required a compact, high-performing solar PV system that could integrate seamlessly with the new building while supporting net-zero carbon goals. The system needed to maximise energy generation on site, contributing directly to the facility’s operational efficiency and overall carbon reduction targets.
The Solution
Igen specified and installed a 150 kWp system, comprising 345 Longi Hi-Mo 6 panels and 2 Solis inverters, optimised for the roof layout and energy demand profile of the logistics centre. The system was carefully integrated into the construction programme managed by 24-7 Group, ensuring installation did not disrupt other trades or critical building operations. The result is a reliable, low-maintenance solar solution delivering renewable electricity directly to the site, supporting Amazon’s operational and sustainability objectives.
