Igen partnered with CKW to design and install a 361 kWp commercial solar PV system at the new SEGRO Park development in London. This installation forms a core element of the site’s drive toward carbon neutrality and supports SEGRO’s wider sustainability objectives across its industrial portfolio.
The Challenge
SEGRO Park London has been developed with an ambitious sustainability agenda, aiming to create a high-quality industrial environment that champions low-carbon, energy-efficient design. The project required a large-scale, high-performing solar PV solution that could integrate seamlessly into the new buildings while complementing a range of additional green features designed to enhance wellbeing and environmental performance. The system needed to maximise on-site renewable energy generation, contribute to the development’s carbon-neutral target, and sit harmoniously alongside wider site enhancements—including natural daylighting features, staff wellbeing spaces, and biodiversity improvements.
The Solution
Igen delivered a 361 kWp solar PV system comprising five rooftop solar arrays, carefully engineered to optimise energy output across the site. The installation will generate 278,923 kWh of clean energy per year, avoiding approximately 131,175 kg of CO₂ emissions annually. To further reinforce the site’s green credentials, Igen also installed an 8 kWp solar wall, prominently positioned at the staff entrance to provide both functional energy generation and a visible demonstration of the site’s sustainability commitment. The project is supported by Tesla Powerwall battery storage, enabling efficient on-site use of the renewable electricity generated.
