Save Money
The roof of your premises is one of your most valuable — and most overlooked — assets. By converting unused roof space into a high-yield energy generator, businesses can unlock substantial long-term savings and boost profitability year after year.
Solar PV delivers free, renewable electricity during daylight hours, cutting your reliance on expensive grid power and reducing operational costs from day one. Whether you manage an industrial site, warehouse, logistics operation, hotel, manufacturing facility or office building, the financial impact can be significant.
If an upfront purchase doesn’t fit your budget, Igen also offers Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) — enabling your business to secure clean, low-cost solar energy with zero capital outlay. You benefit from cheaper electricity, predictable long-term pricing, and instant cost reductions.
Save the Environment
Solar PV isn’t just good for your bottom line — it’s a powerful step toward achieving your environmental and ESG goals.
Generating your own clean electricity drastically reduces carbon emissions and demonstrates a clear commitment to sustainability. As climate change and corporate responsibility continue to influence customer purchasing, investment decisions and public perception, a solar installation strengthens your reputation and future-proofs your brand.
A typical commercial solar system can reduce CO₂ emissions by around 60 tonnes every year — a measurable and meaningful impact for any organisation.
Secure your Energy
Energy security is becoming critical. With rising demand and increasing pressure on the UK National Grid, businesses face unprecedented uncertainty around future supply and pricing.
Solar PV — especially when paired with battery storage — gives you greater control over your energy future.
✔ Secure a fixed, predictable unit price for decades
✔ Protect your business against future energy price rises
✔ Reduce dependence on the grid
✔ Safeguard operations from potential power shortages, rationing or brownouts
By generating and storing your own renewable energy, you build resilience, reduce operational risk and ensure your business stays powered — no matter what happens to the grid.
Who Benefits from Solar Carports?
Local authorities, commercial landlords, retail outlets, leisure centres, cinema complexes, car park operators, and any businesses with car parking spaces can demonstrate their commitment to technology and carbon reduction by including solar carports.

Solar Solutions for All Roof Types
Over the last ten years, we have installed solar panels on a wide variety of roof types. Each installation represents a different challenge; however, our expert designers can find a solar PV system to suit any situation:
Flexible Solutions for Every Project
Trapezoidal Steel
The most cost-effective type of solar PV system is installed on the Trapezoidal Steel roof commonly found in warehousing. The roof anchors are fixed to the crown of the roof sheet, and the solar panel is secured directly to them.
Designed to Maximise Space
High Rise Buildings
Due to the wind loadings, a mechanically fixed system is required at heights over 20 floors. For this application, iGen designed a solar PV system that can be fixed to a traditional cold roof and can also be fixed to a warm inverted roof construction using specialist anchors with legs extending beyond the insulation.
End to End Solar Design
Standing Seam
Approved by all of the mainstream roofing manufacturers and increasingly popular because of its aesthetically pleasing appearance. For this system, iGen uses a specialist clamp to attach to the top of the seam, eliminating any need for penetration of the roof skin.
Utilise Space and Maximise Savings
Single Ply Membrane
iGen offers a choice of fixing options for this type of roof. We use a specialist fixing for mechanical attachment – particularly suitable for systems on buildings over 20 storeys. This is screwed/bolted to the roof deck and contains a layer of single-ply membrane, which is then welded to the roof to maintain integrity against moisture ingress.
iGen can also design a system secured using concrete ballast, which requires no penetrations to the roof. The amount of ballast is calculated using the latest BS and EN standards.
Flexible Solutions for Every Project
Tile/Slate
Planning policies on housing are driving the rise in popularity of Solar PV systems as developers strive for greener homes and improved BREEAM ratings.
iGen can design integrated systems that sit flush to the roof rather than on top of the tiles or slates. This gives a sleek, low profile and means there is no need to remove the system for future maintenance or repairs to the underlying roof.
