Project: AJ Bell Stadium, Salford

Client: Peel

Roof Type : Trapezoidal Steel

Date: September 2015

The AJ Bell Stadium provides an arena for Sports, Events and Conferences for businesses and communities throughout the North West and is home to Salford City Reds and Sale Sharks. iGen were selected by Peel Holdings who are the landlord of the Salford Community Sports Stadium, to design and construct a 1896 panel 250kWp solar pv system to the south stand roof.  The panels fitted to the trapezoidal Kingspan steel roof using a light weight mini rail fixing method.

9 inverters were installed and fed into a designated PV Dist. Board c/w G59 relay. The PV Distribution board was connected back in to clients LV panel, whereby 2 ways had to be combined during an overnight shutdown, this was time critical and took place between 12am and 5.30am.
