iGen designed and installed a 148kWp commercial solar system on behalf of Glencar Construction and PLP for their new commercial solar project at Pioneer Point, Ellsmere Point.

iGens rooftop solar arrays will provide 137,000 hours of clean energy per year and will result in 58,275 kg of C02 emissions per year being avoided.

Pioneer Point is located between Junctions 7 and 8 of the M53, providing direct access to Ellesmere Port and the surrounding areas.  The M53 can be directly accessed from the M56 providing access to the regional motorway network.

The units are being delivered to a net zero-carbon standard as defined by the UK Green Building Council, with sustainability features also including multiple charging points for electric vehicles.

Consultancies Gerald Eve and B8 Real Estate have been appointed as leasing agents for the scheme.

Matthew Fitton, development director at PLP, said: “This is a strong indicator of PLP’s confidence in the North West logistics market. Our plans to speculatively develop in Ellesmere Port also further strengthen our strategic position in the region.”

Jason Print, partner at Gerald Eve, added: “With the supply of speculative and good quality buildings fast running out in the North West, this is a much-needed development.

Being situated on a motorway junction and designed to be net zero-carbon-ready, the units offer occupiers a premier product in a great location.”
