iGen were appointed to install a commercial solar PV system to the flat roof of a new Premier Inn development at Circle Square Manchester situated on the old BBC site in Manchester Princess Street side on to the busy A34 route into Manchester City Centre.
The 276 panel system was designed using an innovative East/West frame mounting system to maximise the available roof space. A mechanical and ballasted mounting system secure the panels to the roof of the 16 storey building. The design has enabled the building to achieve BREEAM excellent!
Russel WBHO are proud of the fact the project is targeting in excess of 30% betterment to Part L of Building Regulations (The Conservation of Fuel and Power) therefore creating a more energy efficient building. The sustainable building features various low carbon technologies and also utilises air source heat pumps.
